INFORMATION QUESTIONS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will I receive the same product that I see in the picture?

In some instances, specifically for new windmills or parts, the image you see may represent the part being shipped to you, and not be the actual part.

Effectively, a picture of a new 8' windmill represents what you will be receiving. All other parts, ie. vintage or unique parts, will be the item you purchased. If there are any further questions regarding this, you can use the message feature within each vendor's store before purchasing.

Where can I view my sales receipt?

Upon completing your purchase through our payment gateway, you will receive a payment confirmation and receipt for your order. If for any reason you did not receive confirmation, reach out directly to the vendor you purchased from on the message feature within their store.

For further assistance if not resolved, fill out the Contact Us form located on this page.

How do I return an item?

Each vendor is responsible for establishing their own specific return policy. Returns can be handled directly with the vendor through the message feature in their respective store. If you are having an issue with returning an item, or any other issues, and the vendor is not responding, you can contact Windmill Broker directly by filling out the Contact Us form located on this page.

How do I know what size windmill & tower I need?

Windmill and tower selection for water-pumping purposes are determined by overall usage requirements (people, livestock, irrigation, etc.) your water well data, and the height of obstacles surrounding your windmill installation site.

If you are purchasing a windmill purely for aesthetics, then the primary factors are the obstacles surrounding your windmill installation site, and tower height in relation to windmill diameter. The windmill needs to sit 15' higher than any obstacle (trees, buildings, etc) within 400' in order to guard against wind shear and maximize wind exposure.

How do I identify my windmill, tower, or parts?

By the beginning of World War II, there were over one-hundred different windmill models in production by different manufacturing companies. Many of those companies shifted to assist in the war effort and never returned to building windmills. As a result, sometimes identification of what you have can be difficult.

The name of the windmill model, manufacturing company, and part number can usually be found either cast into the part / motor, or printed on the vane (tail). Windmill diameter and blade (sail) design can also play an important role in identification. If you are having trouble identifying what you have, choose a vendor to ask a question on the messaging feature within their store, or reach out to us directly by filling out the Contact Us form located on this page.

What is the "cross-selling" option on my vendor dashboard?

A "cross-sell" is when a vendor encourages a customer to buy a complementary product related to their initial purchase. An example of this would be listing a cylinder (pump) along with the windmill being sold. If a vendor wants to offer a turn-key package deal, the cross-selling option in your vendor dashboard allows you to do that.

What is the "up-selling" option on my vendor dashboard?

An "upsell" is when the vendor suggests a higher-priced or upgraded version of the product the customer is already considering buying. For example, the vendor may list a rebuilt A702 Model windmill, but may suggest a new A802 Model windmill as an upsell.
